What to Expect

Laying the Foundation for Total Health

Chiropractic care is like building a house - certain things have to happen in a particular order in order for everything to stand strong and work correctly. When building a house, if you tried to put up your walls before you had a solid foundation, your walls would be weak and eventually collapse. If you tried to put on your roof before the walls were ready, you would run into the same problem. The same is true for your body. Your body has to go through a particular plan of care in order to repair itself correctly and fully.

Symptom-Based Care

If a new or old pain is bringing your into the office, this type of care is appropriate for you. An initial physical examination will generate a diagnosis, sometimes call a pain generating tissue. This will determine which type of available treatment will get you better fastest.  Depending on the severity of your problem, it is typical to need care two to three times per week for anywhere from 2-8 weeks. Once you've experienced significant improvement, a re-evaluation will aim to determine what went wrong that caused your symptoms to generate and/or what's causing them to persist. Although treatment is not always appropriate on the first visit, Dr. Palombo aims for you to leave your first visit with a tool that you can use to make yourself feel better; whether it be self-care or advice.

Elective Care

Whether you are a recreational athlete or challenged by the general stresses of the workday, you might feel as if you could perform better. This type of care is perfect for those of you who aren't necessarily sidelined by pain but don't want it to become a limitation while you lead a busy and physically active life.

Second Opinions

This type of care is for you if you've previously sought medical evaluation for a painful condition and are looking for a new set of eyes. A thorough evaluation can usually lead to a treatment plan or referral that will get you headed in the right direction in order to feel better.
